HCBT Reinsurance Roundtable

The global environment day by day becomes more complex and uncertain. Geopolitical tensions, key elections, the fear of new pandemics, climate change and the rise of AI are only few of the factors that contribute to an ever-evolving range of risks. Is the Canadian reinsurance market ready to adapt to these multi-faceted challenges? Are the major reinsurance players equipped to navigate issues influenced by global trends and regional dynamics, and deliver growth amidst pricing and capital constraints?

The Hellenic Canadian Board of Trade went straight to the source for answers and is proud to announce its first roundtable discussion event for 2024. On Thursday June 27, at 5pm, we will talk with two of Swiss Re’s heads for Canada and English Caribbean: Emile Elefteriadis - Head of Life & Health Products, and Agis Ioannis Kitsikis - P&C Market Head.

Swiss Reinsurance is one of the world's largest reinsurers and the roundtable will be hosted at their Toronto HQ at 150 King Street West, Suite 1000, and will be moderated by HCBT Director Chryssa Spanou.

Agis Ioannis Kitsikis

Senior Vice President, P&C Reinsurance Market Head, Canada & English Caribbean

Agis is P&C Reinsurance Market Head, Canada and English Caribbean for Swiss Re in Toronto. He is responsible for the company’s Property & Casualty reinsurance portfolio in these two regions and a member of Swiss Re Canada's executive team. As a reinsurance professional with a diverse market experience and technical risk knowledge, Agis fosters Swiss Re's strategic client and broker relationships and helps raise awareness of key topics that impact the regions.

He graduated from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor's degree in Physics & Mathematics, from the University of Montreal with a Master's degree in Physics, and from the Ludwig Maximilian University and Max Planck Institute in Munich (Germany) with a PhD degree in Astrophysics.

Emile is a Senior Vice President, Head of L&H Products, Canada & English Caribbean, where he leads a high performance and dedicated team of actuaries. Emile and his team are responsible for supporting Swiss Re' s profitable growth in one of the largest and most dynamic life reinsurance markets in the world through strong risk and pricing discipline, sound reinsurance structures, and bespoke risk and product assistance for their valued clients.

Emile is a graduate of the University of Toronto where he has a Specialist degree in Actuarial Science with a major in Statistics and a minor in Economics. His current technical research interests relate to nutrition as well as wearable technology.
